Description: A Clean Michigan Initiative project to improve water quality and storm water management. In addition to implementing a series of best management practices the project area is also used as an outdoor classroom for the public. The demonstration site is located on Hope Creek a tributary of the Maplewood Drain which ultimately ends in the Macatawa River and Lake Macatawa. This site received a 2006 Urban Storm Water Quality Improvement award. Smallenburg Park is located at Holland Muncipal Stadium which is used frequently by Hope College and local schools for sports. Informational signage is located on the site.
